My mother was in Shepherd of the Valley at West Blvd for rehab last year from April to June. They had a few activities, and I just didn’t think the care was quite as good. In looking around, the place was very nice and clean, but I didn’t feel that I would ever want to put her there for long-term care. The staff was fairly good, but it seemed like they were short staffed.
The nurses are kind of pushed to the edge. I have to wait two months to get my medications straightened out and I still haven’t seen the doctor yet. This metric measures the number of rehospitalizations per 1,000 days of short-term resident care.

The staff was good; the PT, aides, and social worker were also good.

This is not what I expected from Wesley Glen and am sad that this is what is happening. I will not recommend this place to anyone. My return visit 2 days later said medication was still in the hallway floor. One of the nurses does not properly administer Insulin and it dripped down the patients arm not in his blood stream. The state needs to go in and investigate. Said patient was horribly neglected and now has a great possibility of losing his foot due to neglect he received there. I am totally disgusted by the level of care in this facility.
